About the Course
Peptides represent a new paradigm in therapeutics. They allow the targeted support of essential cellular metabolic pathways - they are known for their specificity and potency. Yet most therapeutic peptides struggle to fit into the traditional research and development pathways needed to gain approval with medical regulators - pathways developed for patentable drugs or 'poisons'. As naturally occurring signalling molecules, peptides indeed represent a new paradigm, one that many of your colleagues are embracing to improve clinical outcomes. This course is foundational - offering clear, concise guidance from experts in the field - What are peptides? How do they work? What can they do? And how can I use them?
Why learn about Therapeutic Peptides?
YOUR PATIENTS ARE USING PEPTIDES
Patients are using peptides. The primary duty of a healthcare provider is to improve patient health outcomes, alleviate suffering, and reduce the burden of disease. Clinicians are ethically obliged to explore effective interventions where evidence supports safety and potential benefit, particularly in cases where standard therapies fall short.
PEPTIDES CAN AFFECT MULTIPLE HEALTH & DISEASE PROCESSES
Peptides have Broad Clinical Applications that are relevant to the Chronic Disease Epidemic we face. Peptides are a broad class of naturally derived or synthetically optimized molecules with significant biological specificity and therapeutic potential – referred to in this document as therapeutic peptides. They influence key cellular metabolic pathways promoting health and homeostasis and therefore can be applicable to multiple areas of health and disease.
PEPTIDES ARE GENERALLY LOW RISK
Risk Profile and Clinical Experience Despite widespread and increasing use globally, peptides are associated with very few serious adverse events or reported deaths. In contrast, there are overwhelming reports of positive clinical outcomes, including improvements in metabolic health, immune regulation, tissue repair, and quality of life indicators. The cumulative clinical experience—supported by a growing body of preclinical and clinical evidence—demonstrates meaningful patient improvements with minimal adverse outcomes when used appropriately.
Meet Your Instructors
Dr Christopher Maclay MBBS, FRACGP (Ret.) Dr Christopher Maclay is a Health Expert and retired Medical Practitioner. A leading advocate and strategist in peptide therapy across Australia and the United States. He is the Academic Director of the Institute and the creator of the F.A.R.M. (Functional, Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine) system for improving clinical outcomes. Dr Maclay has collaborated with industry leaders internationally and is acutely aware of the risk environments faced by patients and clinicians, with a strong focus on governance, safety, and compliant access to emerging therapies. This program has been developed with contributions from a multidisciplinary faculty of experienced clinicians, scientists, and educators working across the fields of functional medicine, peptide science, and clinical therapeutics. The teaching team includes senior medical practitioners, specialist physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, and research scientists with extensive experience in both clinical practice and biomedical research. Collectively, the faculty bring expertise from primary care, endocrinology, pharmacology, surgery, aesthetics, translational research, and peptide chemistry. Members of the faculty have held or currently hold positions within universities, hospitals, clinical practices, and biotechnology environments, and have contributed to clinical education, scientific publications, and the development of emerging therapeutic protocols. Their backgrounds include experience in patient care, regulatory environments, pharmaceutical development, and advanced therapeutic formulation. Importantly, the program benefits from contributions by professionals working directly in peptide chemistry, GMP/GLP manufacturing, and translational research, providing participants with insight into the scientific and pharmaceutical foundations of peptide therapeutics alongside their clinical application. The educational content has therefore been designed from a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating: • Clinical medicine and patient care • Specialist expertise in metabolic and hormonal medicine • Pharmaceutical science and pharmacology • Peptide chemistry and formulation science • Surgical and procedural medicine • Evidence evaluation and clinical research methodology This breadth of expertise ensures that the course provides not only practical clinical insights, but also a strong scientific and regulatory understanding of peptide therapeutics.
